ranting on the topic of Hook and misogyny
oh for fuck’s sake. probably gonna piss some people off with this, but I’m seriously annoyed about it, so … here we go.

Some interesting thoughts. I admit, I’d considered Killian a bit of a creeper for a while, but I’ve been warming to him a lot lately. This is an alternative POV to the one I’ve seen expressed before and frankly, it makes some good points.
Still not comfortable with the ‘dried up and useless’ speech to Emma, or the ‘so beautiful and so useless’ attempt on Belle’s life in Regina’s tower. But some of the other elements to this made sense.

If you are even vaguely considering watching NBC’s Hannibal, do it NOW. Soon they will be deciding whether it is picked up for another season, and if you leave it much longer there might not be anything for you to come and watch.
Catch up on the NBC site or Hulu to count towards ratings. Not from the US? Persuade your US friends to watch it. Tell everyone you know.
Tweet Bryan Fuller, tweet NBC, generate excitement - SHOW THEM THAT THEY HAVE A FANBASE. Write NBC a fucking letter if you have to. Imagine if they got a huge flood of letters, saying how much we wanted Hannibal to be picked up for another season?

Very splendid Sleeping Hook fic. very au, even down to Hook’s origins, but I prefer this Killian.
“that’s my whole problem with ouat. it’s not the characters but the writing. i love the characters to bits, the ladies especially—aurora and mulan and snow and ashley and katheryn (lol who)—but it’s not a ladies friendly show by any stretch of the imagination, especially when you take the two most feminine women on the show and strip them of their agency by a character who has zero respect for women. aurora was made into a plot point for hook and cora and belle was stripped of her memories and identity as a way to further rumple’s character.”
